When our family attended First Baptist for the first time in 2011, we knew it was home - from the preaching to the people to the worship music.  Since then, God has continually put people in our paths at FBC that have helped us grow closer in our relationships with Him. God is moving among our church and we feel blessed to be a part of it.

God led our family to First Baptist Church in 2016. We wanted our boys to grow in church with other children while being taught The Gospel through curriculum designed specifically for their ages. Since then our kids have learned a lot about the Bible and salvation in their classes and through the Upward basketball program. We love our church family and look forward to worshiping with them each week!

After my father died, who was my pastor all my life, my husband and I started looking for new church. It took us 5 yrs of visiting many great churches but none of them felt "right" for us.  Then our youngest daughter invited us here. When I entered the door I could feel the Holy Spirit.  It felt "right."  As time went on it felt like home. When my husband, George, passed, the love that was shown made an unbearable time tolerable.  Pastor Jim speaks the truth in a simple but profound way..the music is outstanding, with no less than 5 praise and worship teams, people step up and step out continually serving where needed.  New ministries are started and with great success with a community out reach program, Celebrate Recovery, that is changing lives repeatedly.  I am blessed to have been lead here and look forward to watch the work and plans God has in store for the future of The First Baptist Church of Potosi.

First Baptist Church has been my home church for almost 30 years! The people here are like my family. I’ve been in Sunday school, Bible studies, classes, outreach events, programs, fundraisers, weddings, funerals, baby showers, fellowships, and of course,  lots of  dinners. I have grown up spiritually with people encouraging me forward. They have rallied around me during low times and cheered for me when blessings come. I’ve seen them do it with many others, too. I have watched so many children from the time of their dedication ceremony to them finding the place that God wants them to serve.  I have seen this church grow and change. I truly believe we are a group that wants to let God lead us. If you are wanting a place to belong, Come! The church has grown, and with growth comes change. It’s hard to get to “know” everyone in a Sunday morning worship time, but please, come! Find your place in a smaller group or class. Find your group to do life with! We need each other! We will welcome you and be genuinely happy that you’re here! I know, it makes us all a little nervous to try something new, but come join us as we continue to seek God’s will and serve for His glory.

I've gone to First Baptist since I was a kid. I have always considered it a safe place to be a christian and generally not had to worry about being judged.  Even through my spiritual highs and lows, First Baptist is always there.

I've been a member of this family since I was about six years old.  I can't say enough about my forever family.  I've seen members come and members go, be it through God's leading them to another church or leading them home.  I've always felt a closeness here and I feel it more now than ever.  I've seen good changes in our family, Godly changes, and I think He sees it too.  I can feel Him working in our family everyday.  I invite you to come to our church and feel welcome, mostly I hope you would feel the Love of God and of the Family.

After MANY years at First Baptist, here are some of the things we know:
• Friends quickly become family
• Everyone has a common goal-Share Jesus
• We are loved despite our flaws
•Children are treasured
•Individuals are encouraged to explore their God given gifts and then use them to serve Him
•Truth is preached
•All are challenged to "Live on Mission"
We are blessed to be a part of this body of believers.   God is working. Come join Him at First Baptist.
